What Is the Cow Omelet Series?
First things first…
COW OMELET is an anagram of WELCOME TO.
That’s the entire idea behind the series!
Take the name of a town, village or city, rearrange its letters to create a brand-new name, and hide a geocache there. Finders then solve the anagram to reveal the place they’re being “welcomed to”.
Simple? Yes.
Addictive? Absolutely.
From clever wordplay and laugh-out-loud names to places you’ve never heard of before, every Cow Omelet combines a mini puzzle with an excuse to explore somewhere new.
Where Should a Cow Omelet Be Placed?
The clue is in the name: Cow Omelet means Welcome To.
The original concept is to welcome fellow geocachers to a location, so wherever possible, caches should be placed near a genuine town, village or city welcome sign.
If the perfect hiding spot isn’t available, a nearby alternative may be used, provided there’s still a clear and obvious connection to the entrance or welcome sign.
